You made a good point about it being a dying format. Let's face it, the UMD is another of Sony's attempts at making the MiniDisc a viable format. They just managed to squeeze more into the disc this time around. But you made a small graze across a very good idea that Sony should take upon themselves: rentable UMD movies. At an airport? Rent a UMD, take the flight, drop the UMD back off at the other airport. Brilliant. Also, why not have streaming or even downloadable movies/TV shows? Hell, the PSP has Wifi and a Memory Stick slot after all and more and more airlines are supplying their planes with Wifi. And why not make a new version of the PSP to support a smaller form-factor Blu-Ray, since, after all, Sony *finally* won a format war, it only makes sense to maybe have a smaller version of the same type of disc, making players more compatible, a la the mini CDRs you can by that are just smaller CD (albeit with a lot less space, but that's the point). Come on Sony, you've won the Blu-Ray/HD-DVD format war, why not do something productive with it?

The question this raises to me though is if its financially feasible to charge that little for the UMD once you factor in the retailers cut, sony's cut, packaging, manufacture, and shipping.
