Movie of the Year: 300

300
Sometimes you feel like a nut. Sometimes you don’t. Sometimes you want a profound movie that makes you think about underlying societal issues. Sometimes you just want blood, guts, action and a sweet visual style. This year I picked the latter.

TV Show of the Year: Pushing Daisies

Pushing Daisies
I can’t say enough about this show. I love its visual style, quirky comedy, and quick witty dialogue. In college there was a term I remember that marketers placed on people who loved a particular product and recommended it to their friends; they called them “evangelist”. I believe I am way past that point. If you don’t like this show than you simply suck and we can’t be friends anymore. Oh and also you are a big poo poo head.

Game of the Year: Mass Effect

Mass Effect
For the same reasons why I fell in love with Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, BioWare has managed to yet again immerse me in a expansive universe with characters that actually respond and feel alive. Throw in an RPG game mechanic and I’m sold.

Hottie of the Year: Moon Bloodgood

Moon Bloodgood
She has a name that sounds like something I’d name my Night Elf Druid in WoW. She is hot. She travels through time in NBC’s Journeymen. Also she is hot.

Best New Podcast of the Year: Totally Rad Show

Totally Rad Show Logo
Who would of thought that a podcast about “3 Rad dudes with nothing better to do” would keep me anxiously waiting week in and week out.

Stupid Catchy Video of the Year: “Buggy Saints Row: The Musical” and “Here Comes Another Bubble”

Buggy Saints Row: The Musical
There is a sort of “What the hell am I doing?” realization you get when at work one of your co-workers ask you what you are singing. You’d like to tell them that you are singing something hip and cool like Snoop Dogg, but instead you can only look at them in shame and tell them you are singing about bugs in a game or a the latest tech bubble in the valley.
