“Beware of the man of one book.” -Anonymous

Since I’ve been finished with school I can finally enjoy something that’s not a text book, scholarly journal, research paper, or literary work written in ye olde English that I was forced to read. Tis good to be free. To those of you who think I just sit at home in front of the computer and play video games all day, this is to show you I do like reading baron strings of words on paper alone in a corner too. Take that! So I decided to pick up 3 books. The first of 3 is The Richest Man in Babylon as recommended by The Consumerist. It is suppose to be a set of parables set in ancient Babylon that, as the book states, teaches you the “road to happiness and prosperity”. A lot of people swear by it. Who knows? It just might turn me into a penny pinching saving machine. I also finally picked up The Watchmen. Coming back from Comic-Con a lot of people have been telling me that this book is on the list of required geek reading. It even made Time Magazine’s 100 Best Novels list. I don’t know how this magical list passed me but none the less I picked it up just in time for the movie announcement. Lastly life can’t all be set in ancient Babylon. Nope. Life can be told through a Structured Query Language as well. My O’Rielly book Learning SQL will be there to guide me through that magical world.
